- About Faster Ping
Reduces your latency / gives better ping times in World of Warcraft (and other Multiplayer Games) by optimizing network registry settings (Windows default setting are intentionally causing delays on small packets and ACKs).
The tool ist based on following articles:

Faster Ping optimizes network registry settings in order to turn off ACK delays and small packet delays. Windows intentionally delays small packets and waits until more data can be sent, which is a good idea for non-realtime applications. But in Multiplayer and MMO games the focus is on sending all packets (like move_left, cast_spell, ...) immediately to the server, even if they are only 1 byte in size.
Faster Ping turns off these network delays which improves latency and ping times significantly.
You must have Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 installed (XP with Service Pack and Vista already have it) to run this application.

tryluz saidYoyo, i'm a big n00b when it comes to this kind of stuff, so do you turn the TcpAckFrequency up to like 999999 or something? or leave it at 1? because when i make it 1 i see no difference really.

LosGalacticos saidi was wondering, does selecting both option to "NO" can change the registry back to normal like before we apply the changes?

exhorder saidSame problem as the person above.
I went from 30-125 ping to 2K-5K ping at all times. This ruined my computer.
Reverting the settings has no effect.

vlaad saidI've only heard good things about this app.
HOWEVER.
Installing and running it totally destroyed my latency.
I normaly had around 70-80 ping before. Now it is between 800-2k and is unplayable.
I have run it again and answered No on both options but it is still fubar.
Any other way to reset the settings to how it was before?
plz .. im desperate.
For all other out there.
I have heard 10-20 friends and guildies that used this and it works.
I must have had some unlucky setup combination. But huge cred to however helps me reset my puter to how it was before.

Rethh saidI downloaded it to my desktop and clicked on the folder. Then I clicked on the application there FasterPing.
A window popped up to extract all files so I did.
I then clicked on the application again and it installed FasterPing.
After it installed it though it came up with a message giving me an option to look at the details, continue or quit. I chose continue. It came up with the FasterPing main change application. I clicked Apply Changes and the message appeared again, giving me the three options. I clicked continue once more and it just went back to the application and did nothing. I did it again and this time clicked details, i'll paste them here:
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
I'm using Vista and I have installed the .NET thing. I also checked my WoW toon and the latency is still 500 up, no different. Any help would be appreciated.
