Is it possible to allow the built in Blizz addons manager to manage which mods I want turned on for my different toons? Looks like I have to manage mods through the launcher or the changes don't stay.

EDIT: Seems that when some mods are updated it resets them, have to manually check them off again. Then I noticed if you leave WoW Launcher on too long ( days) it seems to revert some mods to load on toons I don't want them loaded.

Well, The addons list management can be done via the addons blueprint, this is developed under lots of people's request, and a Bliz addon manager override option will be added on next update :)

Has this feature been completed yet?

  • June 4, 2008, 08:44AM (2 months, 3 weeks ago)

That should be alright, now the addon management list will correctly reflect the changes made by ACP or blizzard addon manager

Well, seems it screwed up my game. I have addons checked off per character class, now they don't STAY unchecked.I use fortewarlock for my lock, I uncheck it on my pally but somewhere in the loading it comes back on ...as do several other class specific mods.Kinda hard to play my pally with the enhancer mod showing shammy cooldowns ALL over my screen! I can't see how to stop it either, I've tried a bunch of different things, and since not all of it is translated it makes it so hard to understand it all.

All I gotta say is..use at your own risk!

EDIT: Musta did something, class specific ones are off/on as intended.Still, it is confusing..needs to have better docs.

I'm Sorry!Because quick up to Chinese New Year, the Project Manager is busy at his job, the Doc of English version has already lists in a plan.We will take time to complete.
BTW, suspicion about virus or trojan, please don't worry, you can see Dixon_Butz scan record, he once scanned in the more strict environment, no problem. And the oneself of WoW Launcher also have an automatic check function, you can be trying using WinHex or UltraEdit to change any bytes, can see an alert right away.About the problem of other usages, please wait them Online moment reply to you.

See? "suspicious", as I said, WL uses some ways of API Hook, the auto-login and window name changing feature may cause some relative issues, especially the MPQ authentication pass, so if this is not needed since non-zhCN users do not need to care about "skeletons", I may post a modified version that removed such features, only a pure launcher.

  • Jan. 18, 2008, 05:05PM (7 months, 2 weeks ago)

I understand people's suspicous attitude to this, 'cause WL uses some ways of API Hook, and further more, for some "skeleton" issues on zhCN client(u may have known sth. about this if you concentrate on global wow development a bit), pass WoW MPQ authentication (based on MPQ signature) is needed, but we need to hook WoW's WriteFile and CreateFile on Errors folder and certain dump files to prevent some game lag issues(fact of #132 error but no crash, only write errors folder, causes game lag). So, some Anti-Virus may consider it as sth. Malware.

5 of the tests show a generic malware using a heuristic scan. That is not a positive indication of virus/trojan. Usually just a false positive. I can tell that this is a very active project just by visiting their forums. If there was any kind of malware in it, I am sure it would be all over their forums.I am using it and I feel safe.
