REWRITE FROM UBERBANISH
UberCC is a CC enhancement with the following main features:
- Informs the party/raid of how much time is left in your CC spells/abilities.
- If a CC breaks early, the group is informed and the user gets a Big Fat Message and a sound indicating the break.
- Informs other players of the same class in the party/raid if you die while on
CC duty (that is to say within 1 minute of casting a CC).
- If a player dies while on CC duty, all the others of that player's class
in the group will be informed with a Big Fat Message above their toon.
- Clicking on this message will select the dead player's target. UberCC primarily responds to spellcasting events and manages a single, static timer which is reset on each new CC.
- AddOn was not detecting if a CC failed and the next spell or ability that landed (whether it was CC or not) would trigger a CC timer for the failed CC attempted spell. CC failures are now properly detected.
- Fixed a bug that could cause a player's successful spell or ability (whether it was CC or not) to trigger the timer for a pending pet CC before that pet CC landed. E.g.: You send off Succubus to seduce yoru focus target, she begins the seduce cast, before it lands, you cast CoA on your target. A timer will come up when your CoA lands, and will erroneously have your target's raid icon instead of your focus' raid icon.
Installation Guide
- Exit "World of Warcraft" completely
- Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
- Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
- Windows XP a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
- WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
- WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Mac Users
- StuffitExpander: Double click the archive to extract it to a folder in the current directory.
- Verify your WoW Installation Path
That is where you are running WoW from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
- Move to the Addon folder
- Open your World of Warcraft folder. (default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
- Start World of Warcraft
- Make sure AddOns are installed
- At the Character Select screen, look in lower left corner for the "addons" button.
- If button is there: make sure all the mods you installed are listed and make sure "load out of date addons" is checked.
- If the button is NOT there: means you did not install the addons properly. Look at the above screenshots. Try repeating the steps or getting someone who knows more about computers than you do to help.
Translations
When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of wow. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".
TOC Numbers (Out of Date Mods)
When Blizzard patches WoW, they change the Interface number. This means that all mods will be "out of date" unless or until the author releases a new version for that interface. Some people go into the .toc files and update the numbers themselves, but this is STRONGLY advised against as it will cause problems locating possible incompatibilities addons. When you log into WoW after a patch, you DO NOT have to delete your interface directory. All you have to do is simply tell WoW to ignore the interface numbers and load all the mods anyway. All you have to do is, while at the "character select" screen, look in the lower left corner and click on the "addons" button. A window will pop up listing all your installed mods.
If you look in the upper left corner of that window there should be a box that says "Load Out of Date AddOns". You want to CHECK this box. Now simply go into WoW normally and all your mods should load. As of the 1.9 patch, you will have to do this after EVERY patch/update that Blizzard posts! If you encounter any problems with a mod after a patch, please be sure to let the author of the mod know so they can fix it.

Mac Support
WoW addons are not platformed based. As such, they can be used on either Mac or PC. You can extract both .zip and .rar files on a Mac using StuffitExpander.

FRRjak saidOk guys I have started the process of being able to update via WowACE instead of this god awful POS. Apparently WoWACE will let me mirror updates to Curse as well so I'll try to figure out how to get that going.
For now I've posted a zip with a fix for the PotentialCCFocusMeta nil value bug on my own web server at http://foldingrain.com/UberCC/
Thanks, Curse, for once again wasting a whole bunch of my time instead of letting me get an updated posted and get on with my day.
Idiots!!! :)

FRRjak saidHey guys,
I have another fix to post and I'd LOVE to post it but these fucking idiots at curse completely change their retarded interface so often that maintaining this Addon has become an exercise in hunting down whatever place their inept designers have decided to bury update functionality on a given week.
I'm going to continue to try to figure this idiot thing out but my number one priority is going to be to find a new host for this AddOn.
Hopefully I can figure out where they've buried the file upload shit this week and get this version up ASAP.
I apologize for the delay.

FRRjak saidHey guys...
Again very sorry in the delay. I FINALLY had the time to run some instances on my lock and saw the weird behavior with focus and CC failure (always ending up in timers being incorrectly triggered, sometimes with pet CC having the wrong raid icon and and incorrect trigger event).
The fixes were fairly simple but a little bit tricky to reproduce/confirm.
1.5.2a should fix all of these issues...later today I'm running heroic ramps with lots of succubus CC so I'll get to really test it out, but so far it's looking good.
Thanks for you patience!!

sjmagy saidWhat Kawolski said on 4/30 still seems to be a problem even in the latest version of UberCC, 1.5.1a.
Here is the focus macro I use for banish:FRRjak, thank you for updating this mod and adding some nice features to it; can you investigate this issue?

FuxieDK saidFear is NOT CC...
Fear is the most annoying spell for all Meleers (Tanks and DPS)..
If I ever meet the guy who suggested fear as a spell, I'll kill him...

psychosam666 saidI love this addon dearly, however it is lacking one form of CC... FEAR!!!
Please add this in? I use fear as CC in several situations (Third boss in Magisters' Terrace for example).
Edit: Also is there any way to get this to track more then one CC at a time? In MGT I quite often use Banish/Fear/Seduce (atleast two of the three) at the same time, but it will only track one of them at a time.
Also it's still a little glitchy when recasting on focus, it will sometimes announce it as my current target instead of the focus (Yes I have the most updated version).

FRRjak saidSO sorry about that guys .... there was a bug that was REALLY easy to fix that was preventing it from working properly in most group situations and then I was away from the game for a week.
New version should work fine in groups and raids.

Kawolski saidI noticed this mod to be very quirky when it comes to dealing with macros that banish or CC focus targets. During combat, let's say I'm DPSing the Skull target and suddenly my banish (a Triangle, my focus target) breaks. I hit my macro that banishes the focus target (/cast [target=focus] Banish) without the game ever changing targets from Skull. It then announces to the raid that Skull has been banished, even though the actual banish was on a Triangle.

thefinn saidI find this mod seems to work intermittently.
Sometimes it works - great!
90% of the time - nothing.
I use seduce and banish - I'd love it to work for these.

Kawolski saidI modified the CC Break message to be a bit more useful by showing what symbol broke. Perhaps you'd like to use it in a future release?
This board removed the tabs in the code, but here it is anyway:
function UberCC:ReportCCBroketoPeers()
if (UberCC_Config.SpamEarlyBreak) then
if (UberCC.CurrentCCTargetRaidIcon == nil or UberCC.CurrentCCTargetRaidIcon == "") then
self:Say(UBL10N.WARNING_BANISH_BROKE_EARLY)
else
self:Say(UBL10N.WARNING_BANISH_BROKE_EARLY .. " (" .. UberCC.CurrentCCTargetRaidIcon .. ")")
end
end
end
Edit: Changed the markup to HTML because this board was putting weird links in my post.

jfkaess saidMy comment was early. After installing 1.5a I now get absolutely nothing from UberCC. Its as if it isn't even installed. i completely removed its folder in the addons folder and its entries in the wtf folder as well as remnants of Uberbanish, reinstalled and still NOTHING. No errors, but no spam of banish or of time remaining or of cc ending or breaking.

Lordfury007 saidI'm having 2 problems with the mod,
Firstly, with banish, it only seems to detect banish has been cast about 30-50% of the time. The rest of the time it simply acts as if banish has not been cast.
Secondly, when my pet Succubus Seduces a mob, the warning that is broadcast in party/raid indicates it is seducing MY target, not my PET's target (which is my focus). I have a macro where the Succubus will seduce my focus, so i don't have to target the mob again. The pet seduces my focus, but the mod warns that i am seducing my current target.

FuxieDK saidSuper... ;)
I've noticed a thing more: I have a level 16 rogue, and his sap only lasts for 27 (or is it only 25??) seconds, yet uberCC announces a 45 seconds CC and after later (when it expires) that it broke early.. :-/
