Features

Boss mods for all raid bosses

Some boss mods have very advanced features like the Loatheb healer monitor which allows you to setup a heal rotation and see the cooldowns of all healers

Special effects like the screen flash and the screen shake effect to draw your attention on critical events - for example DBM will warn you when Thaddius changes your polarity
Bars can change their color over time and flash before they expire

Slash Commands

/dbm - shows/hides the GUI
/dbm timer <time> <name> - starts a local timer, the time can be in the mm:ss format
/dbm broadcast timer <time> <name> - broadcasts a timer to the raid group
/dbm unlock - shows a movable timer bar
/dbm stop - stops all boss mods for all players
/dbm ver - performs a version check
/dbm recover - tries to recover canceled timers (DBM will do this automatically after disconnects/crashes)
/dbm spamblock type on/off - toggles boss mod spam block options
You can use /db or /deadly instead of /dbm.

Installation Guide

Exit "World of Warcraft" completely
Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
  - Windows XP a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
  - WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
  - WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Mac Users
  - StuffitExpander: Double click the archive to extract it to a folder in the current directory.
Verify your WoW Installation Path
That is where you are running WoW from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
Move to the Addon folder
- Open your World of Warcraft folder. (default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
Start World of Warcraft
Make sure AddOns are installed
- Log in
- At the Character Select screen, look in lower left corner for the "addons" button.
- If button is there: make sure all the mods you installed are listed and make sure "load out of date addons" is checked.
- If the button is NOT there: means you did not install the addons properly. Look at the above screenshots. Try repeating the steps or getting someone who knows more about computers than you do to help.

Translations

When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of wow. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".

TOC Numbers (Out of Date Mods)

When Blizzard patches WoW, they change the Interface number. This means that all mods will be "out of date" unless or until the author releases a new version for that interface. Some people go into the .toc files and update the numbers themselves, but this is STRONGLY advised against as it will cause problems locating possible incompatibilities addons. When you log into WoW after a patch, you DO NOT have to delete your interface directory. All you have to do is simply tell WoW to ignore the interface numbers and load all the mods anyway. All you have to do is, while at the "character select" screen, look in the lower left corner and click on the "addons" button. A window will pop up listing all your installed mods.

If you look in the upper left corner of that window there should be a box that says "Load Out of Date AddOns". You want to CHECK this box. Now simply go into WoW normally and all your mods should load. As of the 1.9 patch, you will have to do this after EVERY patch/update that Blizzard posts! If you encounter any problems with a mod after a patch, please be sure to let the author of the mod know so they can fix it.

Mac Support

WoW addons are not platformed based. As such, they can be used on either Mac or PC. You can extract both .zip and .rar files on a Mac using StuffitExpander.

Update dbm and dtm and getting an error on each... dbm error is:

Cannot initialise nameplate system: NameplateLib missing.

Mac OS X seems to have a problem with my zip files. It will sometimes extract the mod in a extra folder like "Interface/AddOns/strangefolder/DBM_*"

But I can't test it as I don't have a Mac (and don't have the money to buy one)

But I cant see where it displays the number of bases needed to win when In AB
I've turned on the option - but it does not show up anywhere on the screen
or timers ....

well some good news -- in 2.43, for the VR fight, the part where it shows a skull over the head of the person targeted for orbs works again, so there is some hope that maybe the awesome people who put DBM together can get the announces working again :)

hi, ive been using DBM for a long time, and recently ive noticed the timers are way off what theyre supposed to be, for example... the netherspite "end of banish phase" timer is always off by at least 5 secs
is anyone else having this problem or is it just me? can anyone help
ive already tried redownloading DBM multiple times but that hasnt worked

On their website http://www.deadlybossmods.com/ the download link says 3.11 core and bc but what you download is v3.12 BETA where the orbs of VR and several other issues are supposed to be fixed.

Can't say if it did as my guild is still sweeping karazhan and za.
Maybe that will help those with problems.

I can't seem to get the announcements to work for Hyjal waves.. I have the boxes checked and everything..my mod is up to date..all i can get is Raid warning announces for "Next Wave"

Would it be possible to have DeadlyBossMods itself remember in its SavedVariables where all its bars and windows are positioned instead of relying on the Blizzard layout cache? If I disable DBM, then the bars and window positions are flushed from the layout cache and I have to reposition them all again when I re-enable DBM.

I have one problem with this mod - having more than 1 character i use heavy moddage on. DBM needs to save its settings INCLUDING MINIMAP BUTTON POSITION on a PER CHARACTER BASIS. I want the minimap button in a different position per character as they have very different mods and setups. Or some system to select profiles to use like just about every other addon out there has.

good mod otherwise

We downed VR lastnight in a one shot, but we did it without the announcements. I hope you guys will be able to work out the issue. Definitally a good test on a raid to do it without the announcements.

Void Reaver’s Arcane orbs now generate combat log entries.

Maybe the way it do the log entries is different that the ones DBM is currently watching.
