Features:
Combat Bar CombatGizmo has an easy to access, draggable control panel for quick toggling of options that compacts when not used. (by default it attaches itself below your minimap)

Combat Sentry Keeps a visual list of current and potential attackers, showing them in a frame with detailed info about each target, now clicking on the sentry will target that unit.

Detection The sentry displays current enemy players that it 'detects' even if they haven't attacked you (meaning: the enemy performs an action that shows up in your combat log). You can also choose to detect friendly and creatures who are hostile towards you, all individually toggled on/off using the compact combat bar. Holding Shift and mouseover a target will ignore all these and add it to the sentry anyway.

Stats Info In addition to showing their name, attacker frames will also show the attackers portrait, level, class (color coded), current damage they've done to you, and rank icon. As well as who they are targetting.

Color Coded For quick reference, the sentry frame background is also colored based on their level vs yours.

Chat Output If you have the chat editbox open, Alt-Click will paste info into the editbox, letting you create custom messages from the sentry panel info.

Combat SizeUp A moveable frame with an animated slider that gives you a bit of an indication of how the fight is going or might go.

Health/Mana Warning Enables a flashing red effect when you are low on life and a flasing blue effect when you're low on mana.

Range Recolor Recolors action bar icons red, if the action is out of range and blue if you are out of mana.

Combat Info Shows DPS boxes on the player and party frames, including their pets and 'dots' to indicate their number of attackers.

Raid Target Icons You can quickly assign 3 favourite raid target icons by Shift+Click, Control+Click and Alt+Click on a target. The icons can be changed easily to another choice, using the options menu.

All the addon's options can be set and toggled on/off using the in-game options panels.

Updated CombatSentryGizmo, SizeUpGizmo and LowHealthWarning, then included my own RangeRecolor, and coded a new options panel to incorporate all addons. All mods have not been updated in over 5 months, and didn't work with the current WoW patch, so I decided to pick them up and work them into something new.

Author: Updated and expanded by CrowGoblin, original authors Chester (CSG, SUG) and Silent (LHW), respectively, all respect goes to these guys for providing some great mods.

I like your sizeup bar. But could you please add Combo point support into it? It would be really helpful for rogue and druid. Thanks. Keep up the good work.

Is this mod 'feature complete' compared to Personal Sentry 1.55d yet?

Features I really want from Personal Sentry -

1 - Detect from combat log, mouseover, mouseover of minimap when tracking is on, or target. (And if you want to go beyond PS, then target of target would be cool.)
2 - Filter for 'flagged and elite enemies' and those that don't qualify don't get listed (or removed from list once discovered they don't qualify). This includes all enemy players, and some (but not all) enemy npc's.
3 - Maintain a 'hit list' that is easy to add/remove from the popup list, and alert when a hitlist player is detected.
4 - Automatically report enemy players that damage me (or are on my hitlist) to local defense channel, but only ones that damage me, with a customized report message.

I think the rest of PS features are already in this addon. But I still use PS instead because this addon doesn't have those features. However, PS seems to be author-less at this time and could use a few bug fixes.

So would you consider bug-fixing PS, or simply adding these features to your mod?

Also it would be nice if the enemy you are targeting was highlighted somehow on the list. A glow around the button or something.

Ok another issue. I kill a void walker for example. I loot it. I go to another void walker and target it but don't start shooting just yet. I curser over a humanoid nearby and it's button comes up. I click on the humanoid's button to target him. I then click on the voidwalker button to retarget him but instead it reverts back to the dead mob I just killed. Any way to correct this behavior.

Also why is it showing so many world mobs as Paladins?

  • Oct. 30, 2007, 09:54PM (9 months, 3 weeks ago)

Any way to turn off the sound that happens whenever you cursor over something? I have enough noises and it would be nice to toggle that or at least control the volume of it.

Also is there any way to do an on screen range indicator of the target you are on. I would love a square or indicator I could move around on screen that would change colors depending on target range. I don't like looking down at the bars to see this as I have to take my attention off my target. I wouldn't even mind if it was tied to a particular spell like say my longest range spell so I know as soon as I'm in range. Something of that nature is what I really want. Thanks for the mod though. Very nice and also very helpful.

OK - I love this Addon, but still keep a few other Addons around for showing Target Frame information.

One thing I would love for this Addon to have is a function similar to that of X-Perl "BigBuffs" and "BigDebuff" where icon sizes for buff and debuff over the player self and the current target can be adjusted.

This combined with that buff/debuff icon showing a "remaining time" counter and shading effect of the inside of the icon would just make CombatGizmo superior in my opinion.

Why? Because that information is critical to let a player use certain abilities depending on a buff or debuff that is currently activated, but only for a limited time.

Example: If I could get a big debuff icon over the target portion of the SizeUp bar when my Hunter's "Expose Weakness" triggers on the target I know its time to spam Steady Shots. And also see the icon displaying countdown information for the debuff with numbers and shading.

    Keep up the good work.

Found a new bug. The log reported "Ther's Throw" as a potential target when an enemy player named Ther used a throwing weapon to pull a mob nearby .-.

  • Sept. 17, 2007, 07:17AM (11 months, 1 week ago)

Ah right, then its working properly... it's creature/enemy/friend "Detection", when you mouseover the target. The combat sentry WILL pop up when something attacks you or you attack it regardless of what detection you have enabled/disabled. That is how it's intended to work.

I like the idea of a hit list I've looked at something like that before, perhaps I'll revisit that again.

  • Sept. 17, 2007, 07:26AM (11 months, 1 week ago)

Any chance we could get the option to disable that extra feature then? I mean, I thought it was a glitch since it doesn't happen all the time, like if I walk over and frostbolt an ogre that's just standing idle it won't appear on the list but if it was fighting a party member it probably would

  • Sept. 15, 2007, 11:27PM (11 months, 1 week ago)

What type of NPC are you talking about? A sound option I can add into the next version for sure.

  • Sept. 17, 2007, 05:25AM (11 months, 1 week ago)

Pretty much any type of mob can seem to trigger it. I think it's only happening when I attack or get attacked, not on mousing over the mob or the mob doing something to itself or someone else, but it doesn't *always* happen when I attack or get attacked. I don't think it's ever triggered when I've just gone up to a mob and started fighting it, but it has happened in instances when I start attacking a mob that's already being fought, and it happens a lot if not always when a mob aggroes me as I run past it. Another thing is that I've got separate entries showing up for the same person sometimes. One's a ?? type entry and the other will be more informed, I'd guess you're picking up two events in the log but not overwriting the outdated one. And a feature you might want to think about that was on the old sentry program I used to use was a hitlist. Let you keep track of specific names you wanted to remember and gave you a different alert when it picked up on the person

Nice mod. Only real trouble I'm having is whenever I get aggro from an NPC it pops up on the sentry even though I have creature detection disabled. By design maybe, but it'd be nice to disable that. And it'd also be nice to disable sounds if I wanted.

Otherwise, best choice I've found so far for enemy detection.

Is it possible that this addon doesn`t work with the german client. When I mouseover on a target I can hear a sound but nothing happens, only paladins work, but that's perhaps because this is spelled the same way in english and german. BTW sorry for my bad English

  • Aug. 23, 2007, 09:10PM (12 months ago)

Very well done mod. One thing that would be cool to see is the ability to scale down the text on the bar. When running extensive mode for the health and mana the bar has to be huge to see all of the info. Would be cool so see a text scale option for that. Other than that this mod is excellent.

  • Aug. 23, 2007, 05:26PM (12 months ago)

Mouseover or Target them, also check the options panel or the combat bar and make sure you have any of the detection methods checked, ie: Detect Enemy, Detect Creatures, Detect Friend.

  • Aug. 23, 2007, 02:32PM (12 months ago)

I can only see one enemy in my list. How can I add more?

  • Aug. 22, 2007, 06:14PM (1 year ago)

With regards to where on the sentry frame you click I think it is because of the way its drawing the sentry frame where you click and if the health bar of each unit is updating. I will look at it further. For now, yeah click on the target's race or class icon, will target it.
